Grandma Loralee & A Special Blanket

Here are some pics of Romi with her grandma Loralee from her last visit in February. They had a grand old time together. Romi loves it when she is sung to and grandma Loralee is good at that.

This is a special blanket made by a woman in Hawaii. It is full of blessings and wonderful wishes. Our friends commissioned it just for Romi. Thanks Carrie & Mark.

These pics are over a month old, but we've been wanting to put 'em up. The current news is that Romi has now discovered that if you flip your arms up and down really quickly while holding something that something will likely make noise either while being flailed around or when it lands. She is also reaching with much greater percision - my glasses have tiny fingerprints on them now at all times.

Otherwise things are flowing along. We're expecting a bunch of visitors this April, so that will be fun.

AND, we want to wish Heather's cousin DD congratulations on his engagement and upcoming nuptuals. Sorry we can't make it to the wedding physically, but we'll be there in spirit.

First Food & a New Stroller

Romi ate avocado on Sunday. She had about 5 bites. We took it as a good sign that she leaned in to get them. Fun. Starting Solids!

Her new stroller is a Chicco Cortina travel system, complete with a carseat that will fit her a little longer. She's outgrown her Graco/universal stroller combo. Her torso is too long. :-)

5 months: Hats, Books & a Mural

Being 5 months old is awesome. I can taste my toes! But, only when naked... so no pics on here. Those cloth diapers are too thick for me to bring my legs all the way to my mouth.

I still enjoy wearing hats. And, I LOVE to read. My favorite book is still Where's Spot. The colors are great and I get so excited as we look for him behind and under so many things.

The big news of the month is that my room is getting painted with a mural. It's a scene from a book with a big grassy hill full of flowers and trees in the background with birds flying up to the ceiling. It's just beginning, but it is already looking pretty cool. The tough part is having my changing table in the kitchen and having to sleep with my folks every night. They are so loud and move around way too much!

Check back in a few weeks for pictures of the final mural with all my furniture back in place.
