This month was fantastic!! We had so many visitors and Romi made great leaps in her development.

Here with Aunt Derrill.

Here with Aunt Danica & Kevin.
It began with Matt's great aunt & cousins, then Passover and more cousins, Matt's folks, Heather's sister & her beau, Heather's mom, and most recently our friends Carrie & Mark and their 2yr old son Judah. Romi loved the socializing and the yummy hugs from everyone. Judah and Romi were so crazy cute together.

Cousin Eli and Carrie came over for Passover. Romi and Eli discussed the importance of remebering the Exodus out of Egypt over a guitar melody.

At 6months, Romi weighed in at 16lb 1oz and 26inches long. She's been teething: knawing on willing fingers & frozen teethers and erupted her first tooth this week - lower left, razor sharp, super cute. We're still in the explore phase of solids, but she eats and likes, avocado, sweet potato, rice and banana. Carrots have not been a hit. Eating solid foods is now a twice daily activity. This week we began full baths, thanks to Judah's visit, and it has become a part of our nightly routine. She LOVES the bath. So, each night she eats, bathes, reads, nurses, and then falls asleep in our arms. It takes about an hour and is wonderful.
As for physical development, she figured out how to push herself backwards on the hardwood floors while our cousins, the Gaons were visiting and has now graduated to the full push-up on tip toe, superman belly fly, and was seen on her knees twice in the last two days. She has mastered sitting up, well, she falls over less and less and can catch her herself tipping. She really enjoys sitting in her crib and playing with her toys. She can manipulate them with more accuracy each week. She also recieved an Excersaucer - that has been a source of tremendous enjoyment. She has so much fun in there and gets to practice standing, too.

Romi has also finally figured out how to roll from her back onto her belly. She rolled the other direction over two months ago. I guess it's all about motivation. She has now, as of the rolling accomplishment, begun sleeping on her belly in addition to her side and back. It is so cute to see her in new positions when I check on her during naps.
Adding to the social month, we've added two activities each week. Music on Mondays and Lapsit Story time on Wednesdays. The music is with friends who have little ones, so it's like a big play date each week at a differen't mom's house. And Lapsit is at the library. Romi still is into books, not just for tasting. She can now lift the hiding places where Spot might be. "Where's Spot" is still a favorite. And, our giant Lap Edition of Goodnight Moon is a nightly read and she avidly turns the pages of that one, too.

Her room mural is all done. It wraps the entire room, floor to waist/chest/or ceiling depending on where you are. This is the highest part. It really does feel like you are standing in a meadow of grass when you are in her room. It's awesome. And while it took 2 months to get Romi back into sleeping in her crib and out of our bed, it was totally worth it. We loved having her with us, for a while, and we love having her room so unique.
